They should call this book, johnny deformed...

Update etc...

Played day 1B of the main event. Sat at my table and immediately identified the guy on my right as an online kid; but the rest of my table appeared weak/soft... One youg hispanic kid three to my left was trying to be table captain but failing, this didnt appear to bother him tho, as he kept raising a lot of pots and talking shit to people (he was about as good a linguist as he was a player)... First 7 or 8 hands I play I flop top pair or better, bet, get called, turn bricks, i bet, get called, and river is the gin card for all draws... I check-call a couple, check-fold to a couple, and race down to 21k really quickly from my 30k startbank...

Not a terrific start. Visions of day one last year etc... Then a pivotal hand comes up 85minutes into the level; on 50/100 i have say 21k, the internet kid opens CO to 300, I flat AJo, the BB calls and we see a flop of K96r. The BB was a middle aged hispanic guy who seemed bad and bet in dumb spots, and funnily enough, he lead here for 425... The internet kid raises it to 1225, which I envisage happening, as he should do that with a bunch of hands... I figure that he will only get stacks in with sets, and that he will never play one so passively that my stack has to go in before he turns it over, so I threebet here to 3600. I am betting all turns in this spot with an amount that sets up a good sized river shove, which AK, AA etc is simply too unlikely to call me with. The BB folds and the kid calls. I figure he has AK at this time. the turn brings a 5 and he checks to me, and I bet 5800, he folds after a minute of thought. (Later he confesses to me that he had AA).

Back on track, or so it would seem, as I flat AK to a raise of 300 from a tight player which is called and then threebet by another young kid who has lost half his stack, to 1500... folds back to me, and I surmise that the guy has been aggressive enough that he can have a fair bit of stuff here, and i make it 5025... the kid thinks for about two minutes before shoving, I sigh and call... he has KK.

X-X-X-A-X

Good times (for me) as a 70/30 plays out.

So with my newfound stack of 45k or so I start to get involved a bit more, make a good ace-high call, then a better underpair call, raise some people off some hands, and have 73k or so with 20min to go in level two.

I then decide to mix it up with the attempted table captain, opening 65hh and calling his 3bet (he makes it 2200 of 27400, I have position, prob stil marginal but I was feeling good etc). flop 975dd. I immediately think it is unlikely this kid will stack off with like TT-AA on this flop, and decide on bet/3bet if he checks, and raising any bet... He checks, I bet 2800, he makes it 8300, I push 50000 out... He goes through his normal process of telling his opponent what they have and why they are doing what they are doing etc, sadly for him I am unable to hear it. He makes the call after about 90seconds and flips JJ. I am quite surprised by this, my read of this guy was obviously too hasty. Nonetheless I am still a 4/11 shot to beat his overpair and move to 100k. Running K, Q later I am back to 45k and dismayed at my impatience.

Not much noteworthy happens in the next say 3 hours of play, I probably spent 25000 chips trying to hit sets with no reward, until in the 150/300-25 level there are four limpers and the button raises to 1600 (brazilians_lol). I flat 99 itbb and the three limpers all call.

A decent flop. I check, the others check to the button who bets 3000, I flat, tbl captain flats. I now pray for a J,Q,K,A or diamond...

Sigh... I consider my options and deduce that the most likely way to get a full stack here is to make the brazilian spazz out somehow, as I dont think he will call two value type bets, and I dont think he bets often enough if it is checked to him again 3-way... The pot is around 17500, I bet 5300. Quick call from the table captain who must by now have a flush draw, and over to Mr.Brazil... He does not appear at all concerned about the other guy in the pot, just focused on me. I begin to rue not C/R'ing the flop at this point, and after two minutes he folds (later he tells me he had QQ). I now have to pray for a diamond I suppose.

I have 21000 left with the pot at 28000 or so. The kid has around 40000 in front of him. I did not think at this time he would call a shove, but that he might let his ego get the better of him and shove over a small bet (giving me a hof slowroll opportunity), I bet 9000 after putting a frustrated "I give up" look on my face, and he snap calls and says "flush!" defiantly... I inform him that his hand does not qualify as the winner, and rake in the pot.

Our table then breaks soon after and I take my 58000 or so to a new table, with Roland De wolfe and Johnny Lodden for the last 45min of the day. Only one interesting hand: UTG opens to 1000 on 200/400-50, I flat AQcc, Roland flats and Johnny flats... Flop comes 865cc, Johnny leads 2800, UTG folds, I call, Roland makes it 10,000, johnny folds, I fold.

Johnny folded bottom set fives for some reason, and Roland showed JJ. I congratulate Roland on his bluff, which confuses him. I then give it to him and Johnny fo the rest of the day and bag 51,225 for day 2B.

In other news; Polo Ralph Lauren here have nothing left to sell me, and I also bought up sizably at Hilfiger and Nike; as well as buying a new giant suitcase to lug all this home.

Played Wolf Creek today with Grant, Jai, and Kent Hunter... It was 106F when we walked onto the course, and this quickly rose to what I suspected to have been around 120F, with 116 being confirmed. That's hot enough for me, and luckily, for the others, as we did not venture out for the second half. I played like absolute shit which was disappointing, except for a flash of brilliance on the 7th green.

We then went to the gun store, where I picked out an MP5, Beretta, and Uzi to run some rounds through... Most entertaining, especially the Beretta, which had a laser sight that made life easy. After I had finished my first clip the sight turned itself off and the trigger locked, so, assuming I was done, I began to turn to get my second clip, taking my eye from the sight... Still mucking around with the trigger, it released and I fired two rounds into the air, luckily still within the bounds of the indoor range. (For those who havent been there, it's not like in australia where the guns are tied down and u have a perspex screen etc, you have full control over the weapon and there didnt appear to be anything stopping anyone simply turning to the rest of the patrons and opening fire. All the staff were armed, so it's likely that any perpetrators would be quickly brought down, but worrying nonetheless.

No real plans for tomoro, but likely sleep will dominate proceedings as I prepare for day 2.

I trust all is well back home.
