They should call this book, johnny deformed...

Update etc...

Played day 1B of the main event. Sat at my table and immediately identified the guy on my right as an online kid; but the rest of my table appeared weak/soft... One youg hispanic kid three to my left was trying to be table captain but failing, this didnt appear to bother him tho, as he kept raising a lot of pots and talking shit to people (he was about as good a linguist as he was a player)... First 7 or 8 hands I play I flop top pair or better, bet, get called, turn bricks, i bet, get called, and river is the gin card for all draws... I check-call a couple, check-fold to a couple, and race down to 21k really quickly from my 30k startbank...

Not a terrific start. Visions of day one last year etc... Then a pivotal hand comes up 85minutes into the level; on 50/100 i have say 21k, the internet kid opens CO to 300, I flat AJo, the BB calls and we see a flop of K96r. The BB was a middle aged hispanic guy who seemed bad and bet in dumb spots, and funnily enough, he lead here for 425... The internet kid raises it to 1225, which I envisage happening, as he should do that with a bunch of hands... I figure that he will only get stacks in with sets, and that he will never play one so passively that my stack has to go in before he turns it over, so I threebet here to 3600. I am betting all turns in this spot with an amount that sets up a good sized river shove, which AK, AA etc is simply too unlikely to call me with. The BB folds and the kid calls. I figure he has AK at this time. the turn brings a 5 and he checks to me, and I bet 5800, he folds after a minute of thought. (Later he confesses to me that he had AA).

Back on track, or so it would seem, as I flat AK to a raise of 300 from a tight player which is called and then threebet by another young kid who has lost half his stack, to 1500... folds back to me, and I surmise that the guy has been aggressive enough that he can have a fair bit of stuff here, and i make it 5025... the kid thinks for about two minutes before shoving, I sigh and call... he has KK.

X-X-X-A-X

Good times (for me) as a 70/30 plays out.

So with my newfound stack of 45k or so I start to get involved a bit more, make a good ace-high call, then a better underpair call, raise some people off some hands, and have 73k or so with 20min to go in level two.

I then decide to mix it up with the attempted table captain, opening 65hh and calling his 3bet (he makes it 2200 of 27400, I have position, prob stil marginal but I was feeling good etc). flop 975dd. I immediately think it is unlikely this kid will stack off with like TT-AA on this flop, and decide on bet/3bet if he checks, and raising any bet... He checks, I bet 2800, he makes it 8300, I push 50000 out... He goes through his normal process of telling his opponent what they have and why they are doing what they are doing etc, sadly for him I am unable to hear it. He makes the call after about 90seconds and flips JJ. I am quite surprised by this, my read of this guy was obviously too hasty. Nonetheless I am still a 4/11 shot to beat his overpair and move to 100k. Running K, Q later I am back to 45k and dismayed at my impatience.

Not much noteworthy happens in the next say 3 hours of play, I probably spent 25000 chips trying to hit sets with no reward, until in the 150/300-25 level there are four limpers and the button raises to 1600 (brazilians_lol). I flat 99 itbb and the three limpers all call.

9d-9c-4d

A decent flop. I check, the others check to the button who bets 3000, I flat, tbl captain flats. I now pray for a J,Q,K,A or diamond...

2c

Sigh... I consider my options and deduce that the most likely way to get a full stack here is to make the brazilian spazz out somehow, as I dont think he will call two value type bets, and I dont think he bets often enough if it is checked to him again 3-way... The pot is around 17500, I bet 5300. Quick call from the table captain who must by now have a flush draw, and over to Mr.Brazil... He does not appear at all concerned about the other guy in the pot, just focused on me. I begin to rue not C/R'ing the flop at this point, and after two minutes he folds (later he tells me he had QQ). I now have to pray for a diamond I suppose.

Kd

I have 21000 left with the pot at 28000 or so. The kid has around 40000 in front of him. I did not think at this time he would call a shove, but that he might let his ego get the better of him and shove over a small bet (giving me a hof slowroll opportunity), I bet 9000 after putting a frustrated "I give up" look on my face, and he snap calls and says "flush!" defiantly... I inform him that his hand does not qualify as the winner, and rake in the pot.

Our table then breaks soon after and I take my 58000 or so to a new table, with Roland De wolfe and Johnny Lodden for the last 45min of the day. Only one interesting hand: UTG opens to 1000 on 200/400-50, I flat AQcc, Roland flats and Johnny flats... Flop comes 865cc, Johnny leads 2800, UTG folds, I call, Roland makes it 10,000, johnny folds, I fold.

Johnny folded bottom set fives for some reason, and Roland showed JJ. I congratulate Roland on his bluff, which confuses him. I then give it to him and Johnny fo the rest of the day and bag 51,225 for day 2B.

In other news; Polo Ralph Lauren here have nothing left to sell me, and I also bought up sizably at Hilfiger and Nike; as well as buying a new giant suitcase to lug all this home.

Played Wolf Creek today with Grant, Jai, and Kent Hunter... It was 106F when we walked onto the course, and this quickly rose to what I suspected to have been around 120F, with 116 being confirmed. That's hot enough for me, and luckily, for the others, as we did not venture out for the second half. I played like absolute shit which was disappointing, except for a flash of brilliance on the 7th green.

We then went to the gun store, where I picked out an MP5, Beretta, and Uzi to run some rounds through... Most entertaining, especially the Beretta, which had a laser sight that made life easy. After I had finished my first clip the sight turned itself off and the trigger locked, so, assuming I was done, I began to turn to get my second clip, taking my eye from the sight... Still mucking around with the trigger, it released and I fired two rounds into the air, luckily still within the bounds of the indoor range. (For those who havent been there, it's not like in australia where the guns are tied down and u have a perspex screen etc, you have full control over the weapon and there didnt appear to be anything stopping anyone simply turning to the rest of the patrons and opening fire. All the staff were armed, so it's likely that any perpetrators would be quickly brought down, but worrying nonetheless.

No real plans for tomoro, but likely sleep will dominate proceedings as I prepare for day 2.

I trust all is well back home.

And here we go...

Main Event starts in 3minutes...

The terrifying lows, the dizzying highs... (the creamy middles).

So the past two days have been fairly good I guess.

I resumed day two at the venetian 2k with a good stack, had a real good table first up with the only players who could play being Daniel Kochan from Sydney and this German looking kid who seemed good... I threebet a bunch of people and got a few more chips then flatted 44 against said German. Flop K97, he checks fairly quickly, I figure him for the kind of guy (usually cash players fit this) who value their tourney life too much (the whole "im way better than you people so as long as i stick around i'll win mentality), so i decided that he folds half his range in two streets, and the other half in three basically... I bet flop, he flats. Turn T. he check calls another bet. At this point i have him squarely on QQ or JJ; im not really sure what else can play the hand this way... He has 45k left and the pot is 56 or so, so I put him all in when he checks. 3 minutes of making me sweat later he folds.

I pick up a few more pots pretty much uncontested before flipping with a fairly short stack who threebet me from the bb, my A8o was too good for his 77 on the KQ968 board and off he went to the rail as I passed 300k. I hung aroudn the 70bb mark for the majority of the day, then when we hit 27 players left our tbl broke and I was moved to a fairly tough table. Luckily by this time I had around 475k.

I played one hand pretty stupidly against a scandi kid that I'm pretty disappointed with... As I was firing the third barrel i was thinking to myself "there's no chance this kid folds here", but still bet, he called quickly, and I had to spend the rest of the day frustrated at my first real slip up.

Obv then Aditya Aggarwal moves to my table and I lose a flip to him which leaves me with like 12bb, which i am able to navigate until the end of the day, with 18 players remaining.

Day three then commenced and I was UTG with 11.xbb, and found AJo and shipped it in. Rodney Harrison (UK guy who won the heavyweight boxing at the olympics) isolates with 77, and I win the flip. Good start. I then open 99, same guy flats and we see a J88 flop which I bet. He calls and the J repeats on the turn, prmopting two checks. The river then bricks off and I figure to check to allow underpairs that got counterfeited to have a stab, he bets, i call, he mucks.

Sitting with about 400k at this point I take down a few pots uncontested and move on up to 525k or so by the time we get to 12 players left. Shane Giese on my right opens to 38k and I make it 108k with QQ, he flats and we see a 765r flop. He checks and I do the same. We had played a lot of hands together on day two and the scoreboard was about even, but I knew that given stack sizes he would look to get stacks in on such a flop, forcing me to fold a bunch of hands on a bunch of turn/river combos. The turn repeats the 5, good card for me really, and Shane leads out for 152k, which I call. The river is the 9, and he shoves after a bit of thought (he had me covered by about 250k). I snap call and the look on his face confirms my suspicion that he has nothing, and he rolls over KTs for the airball. I am quite pleased with the way things are rolling along now, as I have close to 1.1m

We quickly reach the ten handed FT and I am sitting third in chips. Clayton Maguire is still the dominant chip leader with well over 2.5m - The first elimination was quick, as were the second and third. We played seven handed for quite a while, and I managed to chip up to 1.9m or so during this time facing no real resistance.

The french dude who tanked every decision busts, then when 6 handed Shane shoves his remaining 11bb from the cutoff into my AA and I hold. Shortly after, the little jamaican dude shoves his AT into my AQ and I manage to hold despite the QJ8 flop.

So four handed, I have around 3m, as does clayton, the boxer has around 1m, and the scandi I bluffed unsuccessfully on day 2 has 2m.

We play four handed for aroudn two hours before the tension breaks and the scandi busts to Clayton. I was glad as the scandi was real good. Me and Clayton take turns winning chips off the boxer, and I get the better of the encounters with clayton, with my stack reaching 5.4m at one point.

I then 4bet bluff in what i thought was a good spot, but Clayton 5bet shoved and I cursed the gods. The boxer eventually busts to Clayton and heads up he has precisely twice as many chips as I do. It is at this time that I find out that he is "mesmerisePLS" online, a real sicko, so I offer him a good deal where he got more than his chips were technically worth, but he declined.

H/U did not last long as second hand all the chips go in on a Jd8d3c flop with me holding J9cc and him holding AJo. Turn is the 2c for 12 clean outs, but the river bricks. I report to the cashier for my winnings and go home.

Will post some photos and shit soon I guess, hope all is well back home.

"Oh it happens all the time sir..."

Greetings...

So the flight over was pretty good... Went to the bar as soon as it opened, Kemp and I parked ourselves there and hit the Belvedere til that was gone... Lou Ferrigno (the original hulk) joined us for a chat; I was apprehensive about shaking his hand as I wasnt sure I'd get mine back, but I took the plunge. He turned out to be a real nice guy, and wished us luck before finishing his bottle of wine and going to sleep. Kemp passed out with 5hrs left in the flight, and I slept maybe 2hrs.

We get to LAX, go thru customs, drop off bags, go to gate to get on Delta flight, plane looks like it has no chance of getting off the ground, but we make it. I wait for my golf clubs for 40min then line up at baggage handling... An hour later I reach the front desk where the woman asks me what the problem is, perhaps expecting me to say something other than "my bag never arrived"... Upon enquiring as to how my suitcase could have made it while my golf clubs did not, I was told "oh it happens all the time sir..." - i see. She checked the system using the barcode and it was revealed that my clubs simply were not loaded onto my flight... They were still at LAX and I was promised that they would be delivered to my hotel yesterday morning... I still wait.

Was too tilted to go find watts to get money, so rego'd for the #3kNL in the morning. Triple chance format is good, noobs dont take the 3 stacks straight away and play worse than they would have normally... I open T7hh ealy on and get one caller, flop A95hhh, i bet three streets, putting the guy in on the river; he calls and mucks quietly before exitting the tournament. David Benyamine sits and doubles from 5bb to 10bb, before I overcall AA from MP on his bb, like clockwork he shoves and is dismayed to find that his tournament is over. I get moved to a somewhat more difficult table where i run my 19k up to 27 and back down again, before overcalling AKss on a ZeeJustin open..., a shorty shoves, ZJ calls, I ship, he calls with QQ, i flop a flush, goodbye justin etc. Sit around 40k for ages til the 90/80 german gets AA when I backraise AKo... cool story...

So my phone doesnt work over here, despite ringing optus before i left and getting roaming set up, then calling them yesterday and getting them to put it on, which they confirmed... sweet, not like anyone needs a phone right...

Today was the Venetian 2k, doubled first hand when some guy decided T9o was good on J82 for 200bb... ul buddy, top set here... I move to a series of hof aggro tables and chip up then flop bottom straight against top straight etc... then get some scandis to give me money, fourball some losers, lose a flip, and finish with 121.8k at end of day one... average prob 96k or so, 1k/2k-300 when we resume tomoro...

hope all is well back home...

Back for more madness.

Flying over with Kemp in about 6 hours; will post photos and whatnot etc.
