Ambition: an excuse for those without the fortitude to be lazy.

Again, I haven't updated in a while. I have a good excuse this time though.

So it appears the last update was on Sunday; after that:

Monday I was going to play a $1500NL at WSOP but didnt. I'm not certain what I did instead; I'm guessing practically nothing. Oh, monday night we played night golf at Angel Park. Was pretty fun, just a par-3 course under lights. Was tilting that their distance markers were all very very wrong; you would think they could get that shit right, for a par-3 course, but whatever. I saw a lot of hispanics there, this may have been a contributing factor in some way to the inaccuracies.

Tuesday I woke up late and Steve, Punty and I went to play "Painted Desert" GC about 15min North of where we are staying. This was a much easier course than the others we had played on the trip thus far, but still quite nice. I remember being +1 through 11 and shooting 79*. Hit some cracking iron shots: PW hit the stick on the first, lob wedge hit the stick on 5, 8-iron danced around the hole on 12. The three of us went to Gordon Biersch's Brewery Restaurant for dinner that night and were thoroughly pleased. Their Czech Pilsener was excellent, and the food was a solid B+ or so.

Wednesday I had planned to sweat Steve playing online to iron out a few leaks hopefully, but every kinda woke up real late and no one wanted to do anything (myself included). It was suggested that we might as well all go and see a show. Cirque de Soleil was the choice, and Jay booked tickets. We ate beforehand at "Prime" - the upmarket steakhouse at Bellagio. This was the most exceptional meal of the trip so far for me. I had bacon-wrapped prawns to start, then an 18oz rib-eye with tangy bearnaise sauce and sauteed mushrooms. A+.

We saw "Ka" (there are quite a few different C de S shows running here I have discovered). I was somewhat skeptical I guess, but left the show very pleased that I had seen it. The acrobatics were not of the absolute highest standard, however the showmanship was very good and the music was phenomenal. I'm fairly sure Pain of Salvation was involved with the musical score, as I was constantly reminded of their work throughout the show. Came home satisfied with the evening and cracked a Chimay to close proceedings.

Today I, predictably, woke late (albeit after getting a terrible night's sleep) and we drove to Paiute GC to play the "Wolf" course there. Upon discussing the booking I had made with the Pro-Shop attendant (let's call him Amos) it became apparent that I had booked for the wrong day. I asked Amos if we could play anyway as the joint seemed empty; he replied that the "Wolf" course was closed. I passed on the opportunity to enquire of Amos why bookings were still being accepted over their website etc. Luckily for us, the complex has three courses, and shortly after we were teeing off on the "Sun" course. All in all I played pretty badly, and ran bad too. So many fucking lip-outs I swear I will brutally torture the next Native American I see (the course is built on Native American Sacred Lands or some shit). We played $30 a hole, and I ended the round 5-up. Punty crushed me after I went alone on 12 and he sunk a 15-foot downhill putt to tie (but I had to give all the other schlubbs a shot each per hole, which was retarded as they all nearly beat me off the stick) which was good for a win, and a 6 point loss for me. I ended up shooting 91, prob deserved 86-87. Not a highlight.

The course was spectacular visually, and quite difficult also. Punty took some pictures which I will attach shortly.

Came home and felt very tired, and as such, am in bed at this time. Going to play the Venetian $550 event tomorrow while the others play the main; hopefully it gets a fair few starters.

Hope all is well back home.
